How to connect when using ad hock (for Mac)

The NumberKey functions by connecting your iPhone/iPod touch and Mac to a Wi-Fi network. When on-the-go without access to a Wi-Fi base station, create a network on your Mac and connect your iPhone/iPod touch to its network. 

But first, please install the NumberKey to your iPhone/iPod and NumberKey Connect to your Mac.

 

(1) Creating a network connection on your Mac

 

1. Open “System Preferences” on your Mac and select “Networks”.

2. On the AirPort network make sure that the status is turned on.

3. Create Connection

a) When using OSX 10.5
- Under “Network Name” select “Create Network…”.
- After giving it a name to your preference, press “OK”.

b) When using OSX 10.4
- Under “Show”, select “AirPort”.
- Check mark the box next to “Show AirPort status in menu bar” to turn on the function.
- On the menu bar, select “AirPort icon” then choose “Create Network”. Please create a name for the network and press “OK”.

This completes creating a new network on your Mac.

 

(2)Connect your iPhone/iPod touch to Mac’s new network

In either order,

1. Launch NumberKey on your iPhone/iPod touch.

2. Launch NumberKey Connect on your Mac.

 

(3) Using NumberKey Connect

1. On your Mac, bring the NumberKey Connect screen to the front.

2. Select your preferred iPhone/iPod touch under “Devices” menu.

 

(4) After connection has been established

 

After connected, enjoy your iPhone/iPod touch as your all-new portable numeric key pad!
