{"id":1130,"date":"2026-05-14T22:46:01","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T13:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/global\/connect-app\/?page_id=1130"},"modified":"2026-05-16T16:38:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T07:38:07","slug":"troubleshooting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/global\/connect-app\/dsc01\/en-jp\/troubleshooting\/","title":{"rendered":"Troubleshooting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">main unit issues<\/h2>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The time is incorrect even though it is paired with the App<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the App Time setting set to \u201cManually set on the main unit\u201d?<\/strong><br>If you Select \u201cSet automatically\u201d under \u201cTime setting,\u201d you can match the time to your smartphone\u2019s time or to the time in a selected Time zone.\u2028<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>\u2014 Is The Clock connected to the App or Wi-Fi?<\/strong><br>The Clock\u2019s time adjustment is done via the App over a Bluetooth Connection, or via Wi-Fi.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the Time zone setting correct?<\/strong><br>If you have specified a Time zone manually, it may differ from your current location\u2019s Time zone. You can set the Time zone only from the App.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The clock face does not light up<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the main unit\u2019s battery level sufficient?<\/strong><br>If the battery level is low, the maximum brightness may be limited.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is anything blocking the ambient light sensor?<\/strong><br>If the ambient light sensor detects that it is dark, the LED brightness will decrease.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">No sound<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the volume set to zero?<\/strong><br>Relax Time, Alarm, and other functions each have independent Volume settings. If there is no sound when there should be, turn the Crown clockwise. You can also adjust each Volume from the settings screen for each function in the App. If you are setting it on the main unit, follow the steps below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2028\u30fb<strong>Relax Time<\/strong><br>While the Relax Time function is active, increase the Volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2028\u30fb<strong>Alarm<\/strong><br>While the Alarm sound is on, or while in Alarm Sound preview (press the Sun button twice), increase the volume.\u2028<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u30fb<strong>Other (Timer, Hourly signal, power on\/off)<\/strong><br>While the Timer\/Hourly signal function is active, increase the Volume.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Buttons do not respond<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is there any dust or debris stuck in the gap around the buttons?<\/strong><br>Remove any dust or debris and try operating it again.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Not Charging. The Charging LED does not light up.<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using the recommended USB cable and power supply?<\/strong><br>To charge The Clock, you need a USB cable with USB-C (USB Type-C) on both ends and a power adapter or mobile battery that can output 15W (5V3A) or higher from a single port. If charging is possible, inserting the cable makes The Clock beep, the Charging LED will turn on or will be pulsing, and it starts charging.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The main unit is hot<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using it in direct sunlight or in a high-temperature environment?<\/strong><br>The main unit is made of aluminum and may become hot in direct sunlight or near heat sources.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is it charging?<\/strong><br>It may become hot while charging, but this is not a malfunction because it is designed to dissipate internal heat through the entire main unit.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Unable to operate<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Has an error occurred?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If an error occurs in the main unit, all Minute LEDs will pulse, and an error number corresponding to the issue will turn On. \u2028Do not resume operation. Record the displayed error number and contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/jp\/support\/\">BALMUDA Support Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The Hourly signal does not sound<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 The Hourly signal will not sound when:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Hourly signal is turned off in the App<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cOther volume\u201d is set to zero<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are configuring alarm settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Relax Time is on<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Timer is on<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The room is dark<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The power may turn off during use<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p>Because there is a high likelihood of a malfunction, please request a repair at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/jp\/support\/\">BALMUDA Support Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The Alarm does not sound at the set time<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong><strong>\u2014 Is the volume too low?<\/strong><\/strong><br>In the clock display, press the Sun button twice to preview the Alarm sound. While the sound is playing, turn the Crown to adjust the volume; to confirm, press the Crown once. To change it in the App, adjust the Alarm Volume from the volume setting at the bottom of the main screen.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the time zone correct?<\/strong><br>If you set the Alarm in the App, the time will be set according to the Time zone.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are AM and PM correct?<\/strong><br>Your wake-up time is set based on the 24-hour format.\u2028<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the Sun LED On?<\/strong><br>Press and hold the Sun button, and set the Alarm again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 If you set it in the app<\/strong><br>The app allows you to preset up to three alarm times, but only one selected time will actually sound. Please check if the desired time is selected.<br>For more details, please check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/global\/connect-app\/dsc01\/en-jp\/alarm\/#h2-4\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/global\/connect-app\/dsc01\/en\/alarm\/#h2-4\">the alarm settings in the app<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The power turns off while Charging<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using a supported adapter or charger?<\/strong><br>Charging requires a USB power supply capable of delivering 15 W (5 V, 3 A) or more. Please use a USB cable with USB-C (USB Type-C) on both ends, and an adapter or charger with a single port that can output 15 W or higher.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Cannot change the display style of Light Hour<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you pressing the Crown twice slowly?<\/strong><br>If the interval between the two presses is too long, it may not respond.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trouble operating the App<\/h2>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Cannot operate from the App. \u201cCould not connect\u201d is displayed.<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are the main unit and your smartphone close to each other?<\/strong><br>Bluetooth may not connect if the devices are too distant. Bring them closer together.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using the App on multiple smartphones at the same time?<\/strong><br>The Clock can be operated only from the one paired smartphone.
