{"id":959,"date":"2026-04-20T18:17:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T09:17:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/global\/connect-app\/?page_id=959"},"modified":"2026-04-20T18:31:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T09:31:48","slug":"troubleshooting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/global\/connect-app\/dsc01\/en\/troubleshooting\/","title":{"rendered":"If You Encounter Problems"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Device Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The time doesn\u2019t match even though it\u2019s linked with the app<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the app\u2019s time setting set to \u201cManual on device\u201d?<\/strong><br>Selecting \u201cSet Automatically\u201d in the time settings will sync the time with your smartphone or a chosen time zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>\u2014 Is The Clock connected to the app or Wi-Fi?<\/strong><br>Time synchronization for The Clock is done via Bluetooth through the app or via Wi-Fi.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the time zone setting correct?<\/strong><br>If you have specified a particular time zone, it may differ from your current location\u2019s time zone. Time zone settings can only be changed from the app.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The dial does not light up<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the device battery sufficiently charged?<\/strong><br>Low battery capacity may limit the maximum brightness.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the light sensor covered?<\/strong><br>If the light sensor detects darkness, the LED brightness will decrease.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">No sound<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the volume set to zero?<\/strong><br>Relax Time, alarm, and other sounds each have independent volume controls. If no sound plays when it should, turn the crown clockwise.<br>You can also adjust volumes in each feature\u2019s settings in the app. To adjust on the device:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2028\u30fb<strong>Relax Time<\/strong><br>Increase the volume while Relax Time is active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2028\u30fb<strong>Alarm<\/strong><br>Increase the volume while the alarm sound is playing or during alarm sound preview (press the sun button twice).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u30fb<strong>Others (timer, chime, power on\/off)<\/strong><br>Increase the volume while timer or chime is active.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Buttons do not respond<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is there dirt or debris stuck in the button gaps?<\/strong><br>Please remove any dirt or debris and try operating again.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Not charging. Charging LED does not light up.<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using the recommended USB cable and power source?<\/strong><br>Charging The Clock requires a USB cable with USB-C connectors on both ends and a power adapter or mobile battery capable of outputting 15W (5V 3A) or more from a single port. When charging is possible, plugging in the cable will produce a sound, and the charging LED will light up or blink to indicate charging has started.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The main unit is hot<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using it in direct sunlight or a high-temperature environment?<\/strong><br>The main unit is made of aluminum and may become hot when exposed to direct sunlight or near heat sources.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is it charging?<\/strong><br>It may become hot during charging, but this is not a malfunction as the internal heat is dissipated throughout the entire unit.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Cannot operate<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is there an error?<\/strong><br>If an error occurs, all Minute LEDs will flash and an error number corresponding to the issue will light up.<br>Do not continue operation; please record the displayed error number and contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/jp\/support\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/jp\/support\/\">Balmuda Support Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The hourly chime does not sound<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 The hourly chime will not sound under any of the following conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The chime is turned off in the app<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Other volume&#8221; is set to zero<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alarm is being set<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relax Time is in use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Timer is in use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The room is dark<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The power sometimes turns off during use<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p>There is a high possibility of malfunction; please request repair from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balmuda.com\/jp\/support\/\">Balmuda Support Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">The alarm does not sound at the set time<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong><strong>\u2014 Is the volume too low?<\/strong><\/strong><br>In clock display mode, press the sun button twice to preview the alarm sound. While the sound plays, turn the crown to adjust the volume. Press the crown once to confirm.<br>To change from the app, adjust the alarm volume in the volume settings at the bottom of the main screen.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the time zone correct?<\/strong><br>When setting the alarm via the app, the time is set according to the time zone.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is AM\/PM correct?<\/strong><br>Wake-up time is set based on 24-hour display.\u2028<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the sun LED lit?<\/strong><br>Press and hold the sun button and reset the alarm.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Power turns off during charging<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using a compatible adapter or charger?<\/strong><br>Charging requires a USB power source capable of 15W (5V3A) or more. Please use a USB cable with USB-C connectors on both ends and an adapter or charger with a single port capable of outputting 15W or more.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Cannot change Light Hour display style<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you pressing the crown slowly twice?<\/strong><br>If the interval between presses is too long, it may not respond.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">App operation trouble<\/h2>\n\n\n    <details class=\"ds-details\" >\n        <summary class=\"ds-summary\">\n            <div class=\"question\">Cannot operate from the app.<br>&#8220;Could not connect&#8221; is displayed.<span class=\"icon\"><\/span><\/div>\n        <\/summary>\n        <div class=\"ds-content\">\n            <div class=\"answer\">\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Is the main unit close to the smartphone?<\/strong><br>Bluetooth may not connect if the distance is too far. Please move closer.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2014 Are you using the app on multiple smartphones simultaneously?<\/strong><br>The Clock can only be operated from one paired smartphone.
